All our wines are bottled using screw cap, our preferred closure. This is because the screw cap is free from taint, is a more reliable seal, and considered superior for maturation in bottle.

2012 Le Notaire PINOT NOIR

This special 2012 harvest was sourced from selected rows of Burgundian clones of pinot noir grown on the Glasnevin alluvial soils forming a unique part of the Waipara Valley, North Canterbury. Exceptional fruit was hand-picked, hand de-stemmed ( except for 10% whole bunches ), fermented with indigeneous yeast and matured for 9 months in a single seasoned French oak barrique. The wine is delightfully scented, supple and rich. It is beautifully integrated with vibrant cherry, spice and savoury flavours. The finish is silky and elegant. Bottled unfined and unfiltered. Expected to age for up to 10 years.

Match with:

Venison tartare with potato tuile and rosemary aioli.
Ostrich leg with Kumara gratin, Portobello mushrooms, tomato confit and blackberry sauce.
